Balsam Lake Lodge Logo

There’s nothing quite like Independence Day weekend in Balsam Lake. Whether you’re a longtime local or visiting for the first time, the 4th of July is when our charming lake town truly comes to life.

From pontoon rides and patio drinks to parades, fireworks, and live music, here’s how to make the most of your holiday weekend with us.

Start Your Morning Lakeside

Wake up in one of our cozy lodge rooms, grab a coffee from your in-room Keurig, and step outside to the peaceful view of the lake. For hotel guests, we offer complimentary paddleboards and kayaks on Wednesdays, so you can start the day with a relaxing paddle before the busy weekend begins.

Spend the Day on the Water

Our pontoons book up fast for the 4th, and it’s no surprise—there’s no better way to celebrate than floating with friends, music, and your favorite drinks. You can book your pontoon rental directly on our website and enjoy easy access from our dock.

Don’t forget your sunscreen and cooler!

Grab a Bite (or a Beer) at the Lodge

Whether you’re coming off the water or just pulling into town, our indoor and patio bars are ready for you. Try our hand-battered fish fry, smash burgers, or grab a round of vodka lemonades on tap.

Friday, July 4th – Kickoff to the Weekend

Start your celebrations early with:

  • 6:00 PM Slow Pitch Softball Tournament @ Pine Park
  • 6:00 PM Hot Rod Garden Tractor Pull
  • Fireworks at Dusk – a can’t-miss tradition over Balsam Lake

Watch the sky light up from your boat, the patio, or anywhere with a lake view. It’s pure magic. Head back to Lodge for live music.
